Through the Eyes of Imperfection

 Oh, Sweet Sore-Ness!!!

I am somewhat of a masochist. I like feeling the burn. I like when I have worked my abs hard enough that they're sore the next day (or next couple of days); I like having my muscles sore. Well, I can completely tell that my arms so desperately needed the workout. My back muscles are feeling it, too!!

I ate a WW meal at around 11 last night--- I felt very hungry. Then, when I got home (at around two) I ate another 10 points. Ironically, I was STILL hungry after that. I really haven't been eating my flex points (maybe 5-15 a week) and have been working out while not using those activity points (you get "rewarded" points for working out). I used to use those AND my extra 35/ week. Craziness.

So, 460 calories, 10 pts out of flex from after midnight (and I am completely fine with that because my body liked it ;)

I am taking today off of working out. I realized I did M-F and that's good for me! Besides that, my body is REALLY sore! lol.

Calories In: (so far) 690, 11.5 pts.

Doing research work now, and will be studying for the cume & writing my weekly after that. Tomorrow and Monday I have to CRACK DOWN and study. grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I desperately need a pass.

I just had to add another.

I talked to the beau just now and told him about my compliments today, and he said "that's because you are". Seriously, how sweet IS he?!

On a totally unrelated note, I have a friend who I find very intelligent, witty, and just good company. She has theories that I get a kick out of. She says that every "work environment" has one of THOSE people--- you know who they are (the ones that say things completely inappropriate in professional settings and the general consensus is this person annoys others). She says if there is not one in your "setting", IT IS YOU. How true is this. The same goes for conversations. Can I please add another to your stack of theories (hers are really are quite good!)?

If you are the one talking to someone else and DOMINATING the conversation, YOU ARE NOT DOING ENOUGH LISTENING. Period.

Just because your life is so great and you feel the need to talk about the minor things that bother you--- don't waste your time. Seemingly, everything is perfect except for ONE thing, DO NOT LET IT RULE YOUR LIFE. And, because I am on the subject. Do not think that asking how someone else is doing is really doing the other person a favor. Especially if they really don't let you finish. Listen to how they answer, please. Maybe you'll learn something. This excludes a close friend who you talk to often and they call having a bad day. This is fine. But if you DOMINATE the conversation EVERY TIME you talk with them, please reevaluate.

Thank you.

Okay, I will step off of my soapbox now...

And yes, I give any of you permission to kick me in the pants when I do this... [Sorry if you have been one of my victims!]

 Friday Night Lights

As I was walking to the building from working out, I look up at "hell" and see that the eighth floor lights are on. I swear, 24/7/365 they are on. Nope, no social life. My social life is going to the gym. Ha. Not joking.

Calories Out: 450-500 (bike for 10.79 miles, 190 calories, 30 minutes; weights (!) [it's been awhile!] for about 20 minutes; elliptical for 20 minutes, 200 calories).

For the bike workout, I stayed within my "fat burn" zone. Lower intensity. I kept my hands on the sensors the whole time. What a pain. Speaking of which, my wonderful boyfriend is obsessed with woot.com (I will get to my point shortly). For those of you who don't know, this website offers really amazing deals for cheap on one item at midnight. Sometimes they have a "woot-off", i.e when one item sells out then another one is up for selling. Anyway, he calls me a little after midnight last night while I was still at the lab. He said check out woot. I thought it was because he hadn't checked it (he makes me do that sometimes) BUT there was a heart rate monitor heck-a on sale!!!!!!! I am so excited--- so now I get my 11 personal training sessions AND a heart rate monitor!!! Sweet! I am stoked!!!

Calories In: 1670, 28 pts (two flex pts).

 Positive Perspective.

Today, all of the faculty (except for those two self-proclaimed "special" ones) had a retreat. I slept in. I got ready. I put on my $8.95 Steve & Barry "Bitten" (by Sarah Jessica Parker) jeans. I put on the sweater my "personal shopper" picked out for me. I put on my dad's cowboy boots that are older than me. I wanted a fresh perspective. Usually, it would be sweatpants, hoodie, my ugly comfortable shoes (you really can't have both comfort and beauty!). Yet, ironically I am comfortable. And within 10 minutes of me at the school, THREE people said that I looked skinny or thin. They actually used those two words. Let me tell you, I am saving this outfit for my next "rainy" day!!! Now off to being PRODUCTIVE. heh.

 hmm

Two friends coerced me into working out. I didn't feel like it after today. I went. I walked then with an incline then ran with an incline and then ran then walked. I did this for 65 minutes. I honestly don't even remember how many calories I burnt. I think about 600. Then I did some abs. I don't remember how many. If any of you know me, this is unusual. I always count and I always remember. Let's just put it this way, I fell asleep in the sauna for about 20 minutes listening to my ipod, being in there 8 minutes after close and this student worker had to knock on the door. At this moment, I felt great- the exercise was just want I needed. This poor girl had to wait for me while I took a quick shower and got ready as I apologized profusely. She said no worries and I think I made a new friend. I feel sorry for her for that! How embarrassing that I was a blubbering blabbering idiot in front of her. Poor girl. A friend has told me that I can be at a restaurant, go to the bathroom and come out with a new friend. I always thought she was crazy, but she's proven me wrong more than once! Thanks, L.R.D.H. for taking time away from your supper date to listen to me! Simply, you rock.

I went to the local grocery store, which has an organic section, and I bought expensive health food. Crazy enough, that was my therapy. Usually, I would have gone for the B&J's, but I didn't. I bought some WaldenFarms calorie free/fat free chocolate syrup (it's actually VERY GOOD!), 100 cal (1 pt/ 1/2 cup) BreyersFree ice cream, and some dried fruit (I love nuts on my ice cream & this added the crunch I needed)... delicious ~200 calorie, 2 pt. "pick-me-up" I NEEDED.

Calories In: 1645 (27 pts- 1 flex pt)

Calories Out: 600-700.
