I am all about anonymity on my blog, except for one person, my DG. She's too cool not to call out... I mean, aren't you better than cheesecake (what's that quote?) and even though I rock at TLC (TenderLovinCare ;) you rock at NMR (NotMyResponsibility; ---couldn't think of anything else, sorry). After all, your picture is posted on my blog and if I'd have my way, your picture would be my background, my avid-blog-reading friend. Well, the lovely DG's husband calls the Health Food Section at HyVee something like my title (I don't know the exact quote). I recently fell in love with this section. It's entirely way too expensive for it's own good, but there are great finds! They have items from Walden farms (www.waldenfarms.com), who specialize in calorie free/ fat free/ gluten free items. You must think "gross". I have tried the c/f/g-f chocolate syrup and the caramel dip. I really like them! Which, it is interesting to note that I despise the low calorie Hershey's chocolate syrup (yuck!). The true test is if the boyfriend will eat it. He tried it and he likes it (and he is picky, a "foodie" all the same). This food section also has these FABULOUS dried fruit. They come in little tubs which are equivalent to a pound of fruit before drying, so if you put it that way they are not expensive, but it's a little tub for $3-5. Let me tell you, it is definitely worth the price. You can put it in yogurt, cereal, on ice cream, in muffins, on pancakes or other recipes. The great thing about them is the company (justtomatoes.com) doesn't add anything to it. It's only the fruit! No preservatives, no sugar, nothing. They are fabulous! They also carry the VitaMuffins and VitaBrownies I rave about (vitalicious.com). Check it out guys and spread the HEALTH!
I met with my trainer today at 0700. I only slept 5 hours, which isn't good, but I will sleep in tomorrow (and get two days off of work outs). I requested part of the 30 min cardio to be the row machine because I wanted to work on my form. She told me that I have good form- exciting! I did that for 15 minutes then the elliptical for 15. Then it was "mixed day" for weights. Lunges (hate leg exercises, guess that's why I am working on it!), more lunges, overhead work then abs. I had my heart rate monitor on today during the workout. It was awesome. My boyfriend ROCKS. This (personal training & HR monitor combo) is the best present (okay, he's my sugar daddy- he gives great presents: a top-of-the-line laptop, iPod, etc). I freaking love seeing my trainer. And I love the heart rate monitor! So, yah for my cute, lovable, awesome boyfriend of a decade. He's too great. And, really, I am not just saying that because he knows of this blog. He didn't know for a month. I didn't want to tell him, because I always talk about weight/health/body issues/food, etc. and really there is only so much one can listen to! And it's not like I don't tell him stuff that I write about, anyway. So even though he knows about it, he doesn't read it because he said that I didn't want him to. Isn't he respectful?!
So after 90 minutes of working out today (well, that includes sauna time), I burned 600 calories. To make things difficult, you are supposed to subtract what your BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate) would be in a normal x min. period that you do your workout, but that's too complicated so I am leaving it at 600.
But, yes... good training day... sore ALL over... I can't help being a masochist. Now to frantically find a seminar topic and get research done...
AND SERIOUSLY I AM GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWL... no one has left a comment in about a week... sniffle. Show me the love, people... please?!
