 Clarifications...

So, I LOVE comments, but sometimes I miss them... I am trying to go back and see if more comments arise for this reason. One question I just got (thanks, A*) was about my heart rate monitor. I got it off of woot.com on a major sale (they have deals every night at midnight) for about $25 with shipping. I started out cheap, because I didn't want to spend the money on anything else, and if you read my blog when I was first writing about this, it was between personal training sessions and a heart rate monitor and I picked the P.T. sessions. Luckily, the great boyfriend found the deal on woot.com and bought that for me, too :) ... anyway, my $25 one works great. It's Reebok and you have to wear a strap on your chest. It sounds like a pain in the ... well, chest ... but it really isn't a big deal and I can't even tell that I am wearing it. You also have to wear a watch. The monitor transmits the signal to your watch so you can see what your heart rate is. Mine is cool, too, because I can set the weight, height, sex to it and it will tell me approximate values of calories burned, which, to be honest, I am completely obsessed with!!! :-}

Afterwards, it tells you how much you were in your zone, how many minutes above the zone and how many below. You can determine many things from your heart rate (recovery time is crucial for me!) ... and it's a great gauge of your progress --- how hard your heart has to work for doing equivalent exercises. Okay, I am not trained in this field, so lol.

I played basketball today for I don't know about an hour. It was really fun and a great workout. I had some cake today, but it was a small piece and I am super excited because my "mom-in-law" made me some bbq from back home so YAY! :) That will be my staple for a majority of the next few days.

More later, I am sure...

Thanks for the comments people!!

 Expiration Date...

I had every intention to get up early this morning and go to a WW meeting. Did this happen? No! Not even when Charlie called me at 830 or 10... I just kept going back to bed! I was tired, but now I feel like I have a ton to do and the day is half gone! Oh, well. Today I will be doing laundry and working on my thingee (it's a technical word!). Hopefully I will get a run in, too, but there are no guarantees.

So when I was at Walmart last night, I was trying on shorts. Of course not the short-shorts, but shorts nonetheless. Then I got to thinking, even two years ago I thought I didn't look bad in shorts. I definitely can NOT wear the same length as even TWO years ago. I swear, everyone has their own expiration date when it comes to wearing certain lengths of shorts. I believe I surpassed mine, so I got knee-length ones. From the knee down I don't mind my legs, but up --- let's not talk about it! ha.

Have a good day people!

 I dig Nike+

So I went over to the rec tonight JUST to pick up my shoes (w/ Nike+) so I could run TOMORROW. I had an hour, so I actually decided to work out, too. That actually makes me happy. I seriously talked myself INTO it!

I decided I would calibrate my Ipod with my Nike+ ... (it was actually right on, miraculously!)

Then I did what my friend over at nottie2hottie.blogstream.com does. (she's amazing, btw.) She goes on the treadmill on random so it does the incline and speed randomly. I did that for 20 minutes. It was HARD! I went from incline 0 to 2 and from speed 3.6 to 8! Thankfully, the intervals were only 1 minute and I could see what was coming up. So I would say only 30 seconds or only 1/3 left, etc etc :) then I can "rest" (resting was NOT resting! It was just slower or less of an incline or both. It was actually fun and the time went by soooo fast!!! Yay, thanks friend!!

I ended up going about 3 miles tonight then I went grocery shopping and I am sort of obsessed so as I was listening to music at the store and I had my shoes on. Isn't it funny to think of how much we walk per day??? Just grocery shopping in an hour I went 1 mile! Wow!

Alright, thanks for the support people!!

 13 more!

then I will officially have 1000 visitors to my page

Thanks, devoted readers.

I wanted to run this morning, but I woke up to a downpour and a thunderstorm (for the second day in a row!)...

I plan on running inside tonight. I just couldn't get my butt outta bed after I found out it was raining.

The boy is heading home for the weekend. I wish I could go, too, but alas, I have to do the paper / research... bla...

On a totally unrelated note, I watched both parts of the House season finale last night... shocker!

Hope you all are well!!

I swam today... it took me 70 minutes and I did 41 laps. My goal was 50, but I couldn't go any further! That's all for now... awaiting the inevitable talk with my boss... wish me luck....
